Red Cardinal Snapshot
WHAT IT DOES
GE Vernova makes the giant machines that generate and move electricity: gas turbines, wind turbines, and the grid equipment (transformers, switchgear, software) between power plants and your wall outlet.
HOW IT MAKES MONEY
Two engines: selling new equipment, and then servicing that equipment for decades after it's installed. A turbine sale is a one-time payment; the service contract that follows is an annuity that can outlast the people who signed it.
WHY WE TRACK IT
U.S. electricity demand is growing for the first time in twenty years and gas turbines are the workhorse answer. GE Vernova entered 2026 with roughly 100 GW of turbine orders against the ability to build only 10–20 GW a year — a sold-out decade.
THE SIMPLE THESIS
When everyone needs a machine that only two companies in the West can build, the machine-builder gets pricing power for as long as the line stays long. We track how long the line stays long.
