Red Cardinal Snapshot
WHAT IT DOES
NVIDIA designs the graphics processing units (GPUs) that train and run almost every major AI model, plus the networking, software, and full systems that turn thousands of those chips into one computer.
HOW IT MAKES MONEY
Mostly by selling data-center systems to cloud providers and AI labs. The quiet moat is CUDA — the software layer developers built their careers on — which makes leaving NVIDIA expensive even when rival chips are cheaper.
WHY WE TRACK IT
Every thesis we cover about AI infrastructure — power, data centers, land, copper — exists because NVIDIA's customers keep buying. Its order book is the demand side of the entire capex supercycle.
THE SIMPLE THESIS
When everyone digs for gold, sell shovels. NVIDIA sells the only shovels most miners know how to use — the question is not whether the shovels are good, but how long the gold rush funds itself.
